Charles Hay MVO served as British High Commissioner to Malaysia and as Ambassador to Seoul, and was FCDO Director for South East Asia and the Pacific In addition to Asia, he has extensive European experience, serving in Madrid, Prague and in the UK delegation to the European Union, covering Economic and Financial Affairs. He also ran the UK global consular service and response to overseas crises. Prior to joining the FCO he served in the British Army.
